All of our own weddings for the year are complete and I couldn’t be more grateful for the clients we had and all the beautiful weddings we shot. Every so often if another photographer is in a pinch and needs a second shooter, I’ll step in. I really enjoy shooting with other photographers because I inevitably always learn something new, and I really enjoy seeing how other people shoot. I also enjoy being able to take a back seat and shoot a bit more creatively, with less pressure to get all the required shots. 🙂 Over the next few weeks I’ll be featuring a few weddings I’ve shot with various photographers, starting with this wedding at the Stamford Yacht Club, a gorgeous coastal venue in Stamford CT. I shot this wedding with my friend, Sarah Lehberger, of Afterglow Photography, who was super fun to work with (and super talented as well!). It was my first time shooting a wedding at the Stamford Yacht club and I absolutely fell in love! So if any of you are still looking for a wedding venue for your costal wedding next year, look no further than the STamford Yacht CLub. 🙂
Without further ado, Tracy and Mike….
Tracy’s dress was by Enzoani who is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers.
I always get jealous of my second shooters when they get to see the emotionally charged, anxious moments right before a bride walks down the aisle. This time, I got to be the one to experience it.
Tracy’s brother sang for them during the ceremony which was super touching.
The Stamford Yacht Club is all things preppy, all things New England, and all things costal. In a nutshell, it is perfect.
The light was absolutely perfect when we arrived to the Stamford Yacht club, which made getting some gorgeous wedding photos an absolute breeze.
Not only is the building of the Stamford Yacht club beautiful and perfect for a wedding venue, the grounds are immaculate as well and make for a perfect wedding photos backdrop.
One of the things I loved the most about shooting Tracy and Mike’s wedding at the Stamford Yacht Club was the full access we had to the docks.
The Stamford Yacht club in all its glory
Tracy and Mike did one of the most creative things I’ve ever seen with their RSVP cards. They had their guests write/draw their own creative reply. I am definitely stealing this idea when I get married.
Both Tracy and Mike are teachers, so they though ti was appropriate to have chalkboard table numbers, using letters instead and the letters were words that represented both of them.
So, funny story, I was taking pictures of these guys taking down the flag at the Stamford Yacht club when, all of a sudden, the canon fired. And I about hit the roof because it shocked me so much. Next time I shoot a wedding at the Stamford Yacht club, I’ll make sure I’m better prepared for the firing canon.
If you need further proof that a wedding at the Stamford Yacht Club is a perfect one, look no more.
