At some point early last summer I added a few items to my bucket list. One of those items was to photograph the wedding of an NFL or MLB player. It was a bit random and out of the blue, since I’m not one of those girls who follows sports that closely. But, nevertheless, I felt like it was a step for me in believing that i had what it takes to photograph the wedding of someone who is in the spotlight.
Not long after that I received an email from a super sweet all-American girl named Jessica. She talked about how she and her fiancé, Anthony, met at UCONN. How they both grew up playing sports and had a mutual love for competition and games. She also told me that they were living in Arizona while Anthony played for the Arizona Cardinals. Me being the super huge sports buff that I am just assumed it was a college team. A couple weeks later they sat in my living room and as we laughed and joked about life, dreams, hopes and fears, I looked up and said “So Anthony, what’s the dream? Do you intend on making it to the NFL or do you think you’ll just stay with college football?”. They both stared at me a bit blankly and he said “Um…I’m in the NFL”. Awesome. Foot in mouth. Clearly I follow football super closely. I can tell you every song in Beyonce’s halftime show and give you a full run down of her outfit progression and may even be able to demonstrate a few of her moves. But the game itself? I seriously can’t even remember who played in the Superbowl this year.
But Jess and Anthony were exactly what I had hoped every “celebrity” was. Down to earth. Super sweet. Extremely kind. Genuine. Authentic. And as they talked about their hopes and dreams of raising a family back here in New England, I knew that they had their priorities in order. This past weekend I got together with them for their engagement shoot and some amazing burgers and, during those few hours with them, every notion I had about them was confirmed. They are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Ones that I would call up and ask if they wanted to go camping for the weekend, or out on a boat for a few hours, or just have a game night. They are two individuals that have been perfectly matched up, complementing each other but also challenging one another. And they are two people whose wedding I absolutely can’t wait for!
Meet Jessica + Anthony.
We started off their engagement session with all their Cardinals gear, hoping to get some fun shot in a field…but out field was covered in snow and mud so we hung out, instead, on the bleachers.
After doing the fun shot at the field we made our way to Blue Back Square in West Hartford, CT to get some stylish, sassy engagement photos of Jess and Anthony. They did a great job coordinating their outfits!
Both Jess and anthony were total naturals in front of the camera
Jessica had her makeup done by Naomi’s Salon in West Hartford, one of our favorite vendors to work with!
Jess, you are a total hottie!!
If you love Jess and Anthony’s engagement session as much as I do, leave them a comment and let them know!
