Kristin and Mike’s wedding at the Waterview
On the most perfect of autumn days a girl named Kristin married a guy named Mike. Under a cloudy sky of grey, acting as a perfect softbox and casting a soft glow on their skin, they promised forever to each other in the presence of friends and family. From near and far, people came to support them in their vow to forever. And when that vow was made they stood side by side with everyone near and dear to them, the ones who would hold them accountable to that vow for the rest of their lives. For that vow was not to be taken lightly, this Kristin and Mike knew. So they gathered everyone for a portrait. A portrait that would hang in the home they’ve created together for the remainder of time, to remember everyone who promised to be there for them through thick and thin as they agreed to stick by each other in the same manner. And as the day came to a close they stood by those same people, this time to the tune of “The Best is yet to come” as they danced the day away knowing that, come what may, they had the best support system in the world from the greatest of people they know.
Kristin and Mike, you guys are seriously the best! I can’t thank you enough for being such a joy to work with. From every email, to every time we met up, you’ve made us feel like we belonged in that group of family and friends who were there on your wedding day. Let’s go snowboarding together soon, ok?

Danielle of Flowers by Danielle did a great job with Kristin’s bouquet, matching it perfectly to her color theme.
Kristin began her day by getting read at her parents home where the team from The Beauty Entourage made Kristin pretty face look even prettier…as if that were even necessary.
You can always tell the type of person someone is by the friends they choose. And, although I already knew Kristin was a greta person, that was made all the more apparent by her bridesmaids who were equally as delightful to work with.
Kristin, my friend you are a total stunner! Seriously…so gorgeous!
While I was hanging out with Kristin and the ladies, Rachel made her way over to grab some shots of the guys getting ready.
As with, what seems like, every.other.wedding.this.year…we took a deep breath as the ceremony began outside the property of the Waterview because it looked like it was going to rain at any moment. But, instead, there was hardly a drop all day and it just remained prettily overcast.
This was my first time photographing a wedding ceremony at the Waterview and I was super happy the weather cooperated.
I love the way that Mike looks at Kristin!
I’m not sure who said something funny here but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me. For once. 😉
One of my favorite things about shooting Kristin and Mike’s wedding at the Waterview was that the grounds were perfectly manicured, making my job as a photographer that much easier.
Three generations of beautiful ladies
Any other time I’ve shot a wedding at the Waterview in Monroe, we always did portraits elsewhere so this was the first time I was able to photograph portraits on the grounds and I was pleasantly surprised with the landscaping.
Per the name, I love how the Waterview is right on the river because it has a beautiful view, especially during fall.
The leaves were just starting to change along the property at the Waterview, which made for a gorgeous backdrop!
Whenever I shoot a wedding at the Waterview in monroe, CT I can always count on the light being great because they have floor-to-ceiling windows in the ballroom that let in gorgeous light.
The toasts at Kristin and Mike’s wedding were some of the best I’ve ever seen. Per a very unfortunate sickness, mike brother (and best man) was unable to make it to the wedding, so his brother in law stepped in. I’ve heard a lot of toasts in my day but his was one of the best, and he only had a few hours to prepare it. These picture say it all.
