Kristen and Jared’s wedding at Ballard’s Inn
Last summer I had the amazing opportunity to second shoot with Deborah Zoe who, if you haven’t checked her out yet, you must. We met up at Point Judith early one summer morning and took the ferry over to Block island where Kristen and Jared’s wedding was being held on the beach at Ballard’s Inn. Despite the fact that I’ve grown up in CT, I had never actually been to Block Island but from the pictures I had seen of it, I always thought it would be a gorgeous venue for a wedding. Kristen and Jared are also from CT but decided to do a Destination wedding to Block Island, which I thought was a fantastic idea! Kristen put a ton of thought into their beach themed wedding and everything matched absolutely perfectly. Though the rain clouds threatened all day from a distance, the sun shined brightly over Block Island and Ballard’s Inn as they said their vows on what turned out to be a perfect day for a wedding!
Because their wedding was on Block island, kristen and Jared had a beachy theme for their wedding and made sure all the details reflected that theme. The bridesmaids worse these adorable Jenny Yoo dresses in a light aqua which coordinated perfectly with the cottages and beachy feel to Block island.
Kristen and Jared opted to do a First Look on the beach outside of Ballard’s Inn, right before their wedding ceremony. Despite the fact that the sun was shining brightly, Deb and I were able to capture some fantastic shots because the colors were so vibrant!
The view of the ocean outside Ballard’s Inn is absolutely stunning and makes for a perfect wedding backdrop!
Jared’s niece was the flower girl and she had a bit of stage fright so her father helped her out a bit with her duty. 🙂
If you get married at Ballard’s Inn on Block Island, this will be your view during your wedding ceremony. I’d say that would make any wedding an epic one!
Jared absolutely adores his niece and it was super sweet to see how much he interacted with hre all day.
Jared and kristen decided to set up a blue candy bar outside of Ballard’s Inn for each of their guest to take home as a favor. I have yet to go t a wedding that had a candy bar where guests were not completely delighted by it!
One of the greatest things about having a wedding at Ballard’s Inn on Block island is that you get to have your reception under the open sky. This totally took the beach theme to a whole new level!
Continuing with the beach theme, Kristen and Jared decided to do messages in a bottle as escort cards. Such a great idea!
Another view that you and your guests would enjoy if you had your wedding on Block Island!
Golden Hour portraits = a MUST for every wedding! The light is sooo pretty!
So pretty! I love beach weddings!
gorgeous!!
This is my kind of wedding! I honestly love all the photos capturing all the decorations, human interaction and detail!!! It’s so insane how some of my ideas are so similar to what the bride did here! She definitely has great taste. Congrats!! 🙂
By far, one of the MOST beautiful weddings i’ve seen pictures off!!!
