Boston Public Library engagement session
It all started with sweaters. Ugly sweaters, to be exact. Through a mix of drinks, snacks and mutual friends she noticed him standing across the room at this ugly sweater party that they were at. I know what you are picturing – a dashing young man looking all cool and suave, in an ugly sweater of course. But that’s not exactly how it went down. Because his arm was in a sling – not exactly the thing that most people quote as most attractive. She made her way over to him and casually started up a conversation with “so, um, what happened to your arm?”. Little did she know that she was milliseconds away from being swept off her feet. Because when he reached into his back pocket and pulled out his x-ray, she was smitten. Or at least she thought he was pretty cool.
From that day forward began a lifetime of love and laughter. He is madly in love with how smart, witty and beautiful she is. And she knows that there is no other person beside him who wants her to be happy.
Meet Brian and Katherine.
I took a little day trip to Boston this week to have lunch with Brian and Katherine and do their get to know you shoot. We dined over sushi and talked about their wedding, their hedgehog (who you will meet!) and their undeniable love for one another. It was a fun, breezy afternoon as we shot their engagement photos in the courtyard of the Boston Public Library. I am super excited to shoot their wedding at Commanders Mansion in just a few weeks!
These two knew how to work the camera like nobody’s business!
Not only is Katherine drop dead gorgeous, she has these killer beautiful eyes!
The Boston Public Library courtyard may be charming and beautiful for engagement pictures, but Brian and Katherine were not going to be outdone by a location. They brought more than enough charm and beauty to give the BPL a run for its money!
Katherine brought a triple dose of FIERCE to this engagement shoot!

It was a bit cold and windy out in the courtyard so we decided to go inside the Boston Public Library to do shoot some more of their engagement session. I have always loved this lion. He just looks so…stout. 🙂
After finishing up at the Boston Public Library we headed across the street to close out Brian and Katherine’s engagement and get to know you session.

Reggie was getting a little antsy…
Some good shots. A lot of the same stuff…like you just learned depth of field or something. Most look unnatural, guys looks pretty nervous and uptight. Should have had a beer first and I can’t believe she made him wear a JC Penny suit. Colors are also off, do you use lightroom to edit?
