Jessica + Mike’s wedding at the Riverview

As the old saying goes, “when it rains, it pours”.

She kept glancing out the window in between getting her makeup done and looking at her dress one last time before putting it on. The forecast was not looking good. She refused to let it upset her but I could see all over her face that this wasn’t exactly what she had in her mind for her wedding day. About the time she was ready to put on her dress, the clouds rolled in quickly and with vengeance. And it began. Monsoon-like winds and rains covered the entire town. And, you know what they say, when it rains, it pours. And pour it did.

He, too, kept glancing out the window in between putting on cufflinks and tying shoelaces. I’m sure somewhere deep down he wondering how she was feeling about it all, seeing the dark clouds come rolling in from the west. And although he was a few towns away he was experience the same weather. Pouring, pouring rain. The kind that there is no getting away from. And on this day, when it rained, it poured.

While mother nature may not have been on her best behavior for Jes and Mike’s wedding, their day ended up being everything they ever imagined. Why? Because they were surrounded by all the nearest and dearest to them. The ones who they’ve laughed and cried with over the years, the ones who have seen them through their highest of highs and lowest of lows. And on that day, the love that was raining down on them was unmistakable and undeniable. And, you know what they say…when it rains, it pours.

Jes and Mike, thank you sooooo much for allowing us to be part of what was one of the best parties we’ve ever attended!!! Seriously, your wedding was one for the books and I am so honored that you chose us to be the ones to document it. 🙂

I also need to give a HUGE shout out to the all-star team of vendors that helped make their wedding at the Riverview go off without a hitch….

Jessica chose a Lazaro dress that was absolutely beautiful!

Jessica’s dog, Giselle, spent the morning getting ready with the girls and entertaining all of us.

Jesicca’s ring was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen!

While Rachel and I hung out with the girls, Adam went to be with the guys. And, I have to say, he came out with some of the best images I’ve EVER seen him take. I was beaming with pride after seeing these images he took of Mike.

Luckily, the rain stopped just before their wedding ceremony way the Riverview was about to take place.

The grounds of the Riverview are super pretty and made a gorgeous backdrop for their wedding images.

Naomi Martinez really did a fantastic job with Jessica’s hair and makeup!

The ladies from The Candy Brigade were on hand and set up the best candy buffet I’ve ever seen!

One of Mike’s Groomsmen wrote and sang a song for them at their wedding reception at the Riverview and I think most people in attendance would agree that it was one of the highlights of the day.

I’ve been hanging out cards for Inspiration in Motion to every client of mine for almost two years and I was so delighted to finality have one client book them! Many photographers prefer not to have a videographer on hand but we actually love working with other creatives. And their video lights always make our job that much easier.

Jes and Mike hired the CT Cigar Company, who I’ve also been trying to get to a wedding of mine for some time. It was so, so cool to have them there, hand rolling cigars for each wedding guest.

To say that Jes and Mike threw an incredible party might be the understatement of the year. The dance floor was packed ALL night and people were going crazy having a great time. It was everything we love seeing at a wedding!
