AND YOU WONDER WHY I AM IN LOVE WITH DENMARK?? Oh, Internet, wonder no more.
You met Henriette and Christian a while back when I showed you their travel themed get-to-know-you session in the beautiful location of Nyhavn, Denmark. And there you got a taste of this country that has stolen my heart. But now, oh yes, now you get to see their travel themed wedding!!! Henriette and Christian were BEYOND delightful to work with. Seriously, if I could, I would pack them up in that gorgeous vintage suitcase of theirs and take them home with me. They are so sweet, so kind, so loving, and so much fun. And their family and friends? No exception – they were all that great to be around! And shooting weddings like this reminds me why I do what I do. It’s not just about beautiful portraits, stunning backdrops, and exotic locations. All those are fun, but that’s not what it’s about. It’s about love and laughter and living in the moment, cherishing today and remembering why I chose to do this in the first place. Henriette and Christian, thanks for reminding me all over again how beautiful love is. 🙂
Henriette wore a lovely little number by the famous danish designer Jesper Høvring, custom made just for her.
One of the things I love about photographing weddings in Copenhagen, Denmark is that I am almost always guaranteed the chance to shoot in a beautiful, well lit church!I am kinda obsessed with the Danish language. Even though I am pretty terrible at speaking it.Married!!These cupcakes were some of the best I have tasted in a while. The buttercream was so….buttery!! YUM!Fitting with their travel themed wedding, all the signage for the food was made out of luggage tags. The company that Christian works for has some connections to vintage cars so they had this gorgeous beaute for the day. You saw in Eby + Jacques’ wedding photos that I am kinda obsessed with Christiansborg slot because I loooove the lines of the columns. Make a great place for wedding portraits! Henriette, my dear, du er så flot!! Once again, tying in the travel theme, Henriette and Christian had the menus placed inside vintage airmail enveloped. Such a cute idea!Their adorable boarding pass wedding invitations. So well done!Christian wore airplane cufflinks of bi-planes.For their guestbook they put out a vintage suitcase with postcards and had guests write them notes.THe grooms speech. The brides speech.I love the way Danish people do the first dance – they start in the middle doing a traditional waltz and then slowly the guests start crowding in until there is no more room for the couple to dance and then……the men all pick up the groom, remove his shoes, and cut off the tip of his sock. It has something to do with fertility, but I think it is just more for fun. 🙂
AMAZING, as usual! The colors of the flowers were so beautiful and they look so happy!!!!
absolutely adore your detail shots! wow!
