Yale University engagement session
The phrase “a match made in heaven” may or may not have been penned with these two in mind. Personally, I think “dream team” suits them just as well. I am not sure I have ever met a couple so perfectly matched together and made for each other. They love each other without restraint, and give of themselves sacrificially to nearly everyone. they. meet. They are genuine. They are selfless. They are real.
I have known Jocelyn for over 20 years (crazy!) and although we were never super close friends, it has been an honor for me to see how she has grown into such a strong, smart, steady woman who loves Jesus and people more than anything (in that order!). She is quite possibly the most all-over (inside and out!) beautiful person I ever met. And then there was Harrison. I saw facbeook pictures of them together, and secretly wondered if she fell for him because he is tall and handsome. I wondered if he deserved her. I wondered if he cared as much for the things she cared about. And then I met him. And I saw them together. I saw how he looked at her, how he encouraged and supported her. I took note of how he spoke but then paused long enough to make sure she was able to speak too. I watched the way he would gently place his arm around her, or his hand on her knee. And it was then that I knew she had found a treasure in him, as I know he found in her.
We decided to do their engagement shoot at Yale University because the campus is just so stunning! We stayed right around the Sterling memorial Library area and….well let’s just say the setting did not disappoint!
I knew it was going to be a great engagement session when these were the 5th and 6th photos I took! They brought their gah-ness right from the start! And, no gah-ness is not really a word. But I just made it one.
And those RED leaves? Yes, please!
Are these two hot….or are the HAWWWT! Right?!?!?! Can’t handle it. Ok, I’ll stop now…but only temporarily…
Way 2 kewt.
Joc requested to stand on top of the fountain so that, for once in her life, she could be taller than Harrison. As she stated during the shoot “I am wearing 5 inch heels with a 1 inch platform and I am still barely at his shoulder!”
I affectionally refer to these two photos as “BAM!” and “Shazam!”…yeah, I am that lame. But you can’t say that you don’t agree with me…
Throwing in a little “Rawr” to this session. And take this as your fair warning, the “rawr” only gets better from here on out…
So I pretty much adore the Yale University campus for engagement and wedding portraits because it really is that beautiful, and in every season too!
Jocelyn, you are all things stunning and lovely!
Their wedding date 🙂
This set just may go down in my engagement session “all-time favorites” folder. Not that I actually have a folder with that title. But, you know, I do in my head. And these are definitely in it. Naturally.
Harrison had no problem workin’ the camera.
…and he worked it well!
And Jocelyn….? Seriously. No, SERIOUSLY….could you be any more gorgeous??
Breathtaking. That’s it. That’s the only word I can find.
Ok you two…stop being so perfect. Really. 😉
LOOOOOVEEEE this one!
The Sterling Memorial Library in New Haven had all these little nooks and crannies that we could have shot in all day – it was perfect for their engagement session!
Love!
Joc and Har….I CAN’T WAIT for your wedding next year. but I think I’ve already been pretty clear on that one. LOVE you guys!! 😉 And to the rest of you, leave Jocelyn and Harrison a comment to let them know what you think of these photos!!
