We walked along the corridor at Christiansborg Slot and chatted about marriage – the ups and downs, the fun times of laughter, and the challenges in between. Rebekka and Mikkel are two of the most honest, down to earth, authentic people I know and I loved hearing candidly what these first handful of years of marriage have been like for them. One thing is certain – these two love hard and love fierce. It’s in the way he pulls her in close and whisper sweet nothings into her ear, and in the way she flashes a coy smile toward him all while being his biggest fan and supporter. When I shot Rebekka and Mikkel’s wedding 4 years ago, I knew that they were destined to live a life of love and full of purpose, but it is always encouraging to see that playing out years later. Because years later, and one adorable baby thrown into the mix, there’s just something so much deeper about the love they share. Something that goes beyond young and beautiful looks (though clearly they haven’t lost that!), something that runs so much deeper than just dating and being boyfriend and girlfriend. You can tell when they are together that they have truly become one unit. And that combined with my favorite place to shoot at in Copenhagen, as well as two flawlessly beautiful people and one amazing sequin dress equated to what has moved it’s way up to my absolute most favorite portrait session I have ever done. Hands down. This one…..is a winner. And I’ve been DYING to show it to you since the second I finished shooting it in Copenhagen a couple weeks ago.
