While visiting Dubai, I had the incredible opportunity of photographing my dear friend, Patty, and her husband Ernesto (with a brief cameo by their toddler Philippe!). I met Patty the first year I moved to Denmark and we pretty quickly became good friends. Over the course of our time in Denmark, we went through a myriad of crushes on various boys, but it wasn’t until I left Denmark that we both found our husbands. I’ll never forget when Patty called me one day and said “I met a guy…”. I had a trip to Denmark scheduled and was so excited to meet this new guy that she had taken an interest in. As soon as I met Ernesto, I knew he was a good match for my dear friend. He’s never been intimidated by Patty’s ambition or success and, in fact, encourages her daily to pursue whatever it is that she is passionate about. He is a leader and a gentleman, successful in his own right, but never forgets his priorities in life. They moved to Dubai a handful of years ago and, while I was there, I knew that I HAD to photograph them in the desert. They are a true model of how beautiful marriage can be, and how much God can use two people who are on the same page and same course in life. Shot entirely on medium format film, this session was an absolute dream!

Sidenote: If you ever visit Dubai, you MUST go to the desert!
