Michele + Jim | Wedding at the Waterview in Monroe, CT
It’s almost the weekend and I don’t know about you but I have some pretty fun and amazing summery plans for this weekend. But before I head out for my weekend festivities, I wanted to show you the awesomeness that was Michele and Jim’s wedding at the Waterview in Monroe, CT. Michele is an art teacher so she made certain to pay attention to all the creative details, which always makes my job more fun. Their bridal party was also a blast to work with, and rather hilarious.
Michele and Jim, thanks so much for inviting me to be a part of your super fun wedding and for allowing me the honor of documenting it all!
Michele chose to get ready at the Hotel Sierra in Shelton which is a super cute, chic hotel. Highly recommended! Michele, you are absolutely stunning and timeless! Michele and Jim found this old bridge on the Shelton/Derby line to take their wedding pictures at. I loooove the background and texture of it. We won’t talk about the huge gaps in between the railroad ties on the bridge which led to a 40 foot drop below. 😉 The weatherman called for lots of rain that day but we were lucky enough to barely have a small drizzle.Right across the street from the bridge were some old abandoned factories which also provided some fun textures for the rest of their portraits. After portraits we headed over to the Waterview in Monroe, CT for their reception. The staff and team at the Waterview did a fantastic job!Michele is an art teacher so she made sure to add some fun DIY details to her wedding like these hand covered matchbox favors. Michele and Jim chose to do some pretty purple uplighting for their reception at the Waterview in Monroe, which made for some fantastic ambiance. I always suggest uplighting to my clients because it really make a world of a difference for the photos. As soon as the first measure began in the first song, this wedding was hopping! The guests hardly left the dance floor all night…not even for the s’more buffet! But that just meant more s’mores for me. 😉 Because it was 4th of July weekend, Michele and Jim chose to leave via a sparkler exit which is always a lot of fun!
Holy Smokes Batman, did you climb the bridge? You’re my shero! LOL These were amazing and very inspiring. I love your posing and the DOF is like butter! The bride and groom were gorgeous and their colors were so vibrant! These photos were just beautiful! 🙂
