If I had to pick only one photo from that day as my favorite, it would be this one. I love the way the light is shining through my veil and I love how we were posed.
Wedding day advice:
The best wedding advice I can give to you, a future bride, is to tell you not to stress too much. I spent inordinate amounts of time trying to make everything perfect and, inevitably, something will always go wrong. The reason for this is because you spend the time planning how you want everything but, that day, you can’t be in two places at once. You have to trust your vendors to do their jobs, and do them the right way. Getting the perfect day truly does start with the perfect vendors. Make sure you choose vendors who listen to and actually care what you want. If something goes wrong, it is likely that no one but you noticed. Let it go and enjoy your day. It goes by SO quickly.
Marriage advice:
In the (almost) year my husband and I have been married, I have learned that marriage takes work. Life is so busy and it is so easy to get swept up in it and lose each other along the way. You have to make a conscious effort to talk to one another and make plans to spend time together, even if it’s just one night per week. Marriage is like watering a plant: just as you have to water a plant to keep it alive, you must pay attention to your marriage to keep it alive. You have to do this to make sure that as you grow, you grow together rather than apart. Marriage is one of those things in life that is worth having. It is a wonderful thing. It is the best of things. And nothing worth having in life ever comes easy!
