A couple months ago, Stephanie reached out to me because she was hoping to surprise her fiancé, Tim with an engagement session while they went to visit New York City for a little getaway. They are originally from Detroit but came to NYC to paint the town red for a few days. She really wanted a session that captured some iconic and quintessential places in the city and that showed that they were in NYC. We decided to start at Borough Hall in Brooklyn because the architecture is so beautiful, and from there we planned to walk toward Dumbo and finish with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. Not much to our surprise, it was a bitterly cold and blustery day int he city and we were all absolutely freezing. By the time we were done with the portion of their session at Borough Hall, Stephanie’s lips were nearly blue and my hands were frozen in the shooting position. We decided, instead, to take a (WARM) taxi to Dumbo rather than walk, which I think all three of us would agree was a great decision. In between popping into West Elm to warm up, we finished their session in Dumbo with the Manhattan skyline in the background. You would never be able to tell by these photos that they were absolutely freezing this whole session – Stephanie and Tim heated things up with their smiles, affection, and adoration for each other!
Meet Stephanie + Tim.
