She turned the pages and scribbled the words “I think I like Steve, but he might just be my friend.”, wishing and hoping but having no idea if he would ever feel the same. Some may say it was silly and many more would say that when you’re that young, your feeling change every week. But hers didn’t. She may have only been in 6th grade but Rachael knew there was something about Steve that stood out from all the other boys. The years continued as they casually got to know each other while walking from class to class with each other their freshman year of high school, and it wasn;t until one day between freshman and sophomore year that Steve finally worked up the nerve to ask Rachael out. And while some may say they took way too long together, I say that they spent thos early years building a lasting foundation of friendship for their relationship and eventually their marriage. You see, despite all the typical high school silliness, attending colleges several states apart, and one additional post-college year of long-distance, they stuck together because they had that solid start of years of growing up together.
Rachael and Steve, we are SO EXCITED to be with you on your wedding day this year and to continue to get to know you more as you grow old together. 🙂
