I cried, and I cried hard. Big, fat, happy tears streamed down my face when I saw the top of his head for the first time. And then when I saw his face my heart skipped a beat or two. I was immediately in love.
I have attended 3 other live births throughout my life but there is just something so different and special about being there when your baby sister gives birth to her first child. It was, quite possibly, my proudest moment in life thus far. There is nothing as beautiful as witnessing a new life coming into this world and there is nothing so breathtaking as seeing the face of a first time mom and dad when they get that very first glimpse of their child. It is a miracle, really.
William John Carson Jr. came into the world last night at 9:23PM just as the Packers were putting their finishing touches on the Steelers. He weighed 7lbs 4oz. and was a perfect 20 inches long. Katie was a real trooper after having contractions since last Monday. She was in active labor for about 7 hours and after 3 good pushes, Little Bill literally flew out – so fast that the midwife almost dropped him! Katie did all of this without the aid of any pain medication. S proud of her.
Met our newest family member… 🙂 You can be sure that we will be doing more than a few newborn shoots later on this week. 🙂

Congrats Auntie! I can remember when my sister had her first baby. He was a c-section so I wasn’t able to witness the birth but it was instant, intense love when I met him….now he’s 12!
