A couple weeks ago I met up with Mara and Bryan at her parents Old Saybrook home, and the place she spent the majority of her childhood. I’ve always loved Old Saybrook but being on these private rocky and sandy beaches gave me a new perspective of how glorious New England costal life is. It’s intimate, cozy, friendly – everything that a neighborhood and community can be. Mara and Bryan (and Mara’s dad!) took me down to Rocky beach, to their friends beautiful home where we walked down stone stairs to get to the beach, and then finally we ended behind Mara’s parents home that is right on the water and has the most glorious view of the sun setting every afternoon. Mara and Bryan are the type of people that are so friendly, kind and welcoming that you feel like you’ve known them for years. As soon as I walked into her parents home, Mara asked if I wanted anything to drink or if I wanted one of her fabulous homemade apple pie cupcakes. I declined the cupcake at that moment, but I was sure to take one with me when I left and it was one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had! These two are quite possibly one of the sweetest couples we’ve ever worked with – there’s something about the way he gently guides her by the hand, or how she looks at him with a sparkle of joy in her eyes and laughter on her lips. It’s quite obvious that Mara and Bryan are head over heels for each other, but it’s the kind of love that you know is grounded in friendship and mutual respect, which are two of the most important things in a relationship.
Meet Mara + Bryan.
