I met Gina last year at Leah and Jeff’s wedding and I distinctly remember going up to her during portraits and saying “You are one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen and when you get married, I’m going to be your photographer, k?”. I have creeper tendencies like that. In most cases I think the people I say stuff like that to get totally weirded out but, in Gina’s case, she laughed and said “ok!”….and wouldn’t you know that 8 months later the love of her life got down on one knee to ask her to spend forever with him, and she contacted me shortly after about photographing her wedding. When I met with Gina and Kurt, I could instantly tell that I would love working with them. They balance each other out perfectly. He is the calm to her spunk and she is the spice to his steady and strong. They love each other well, and it is so obvious.
I met up with Gina and Kurt a few weeks ago at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, which is one of my favorite places to photograph. I grew up going to that beach so I know the nooks and crannies very well, however, this was the first time I had an engagement session at Lighthouse Point when the tide was low so we took full advantage of the rock jetty and the shell-filled nooks where the tide was out.
Gina and Kurt are getting married this fall at Delmar in Greenwich and I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding that I am certain will be stunning!
