Sweets. I’m a bit of an addict. Come to think of it “a bit” is probably not even coming close to telling the truth of the extent I take pleasure in enjoying sweets. Cupcakes, chocolate, candy, bring it on. Adam, on the other hand, is not much of a sweets guy. He’s more of a burger or burrito kinda guy. So when we are choosing to have a day where we eat unhealthy, a debate always ensues because our cravings are worlds apart. His argument is always something along the lines of “But too much sweetness just isn’t good”. I beg to differ. And as proof, there are people like Jenny and Patrick. Because, quite frankly, they are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. See what I did there? 😉 And because there is no such thing as too much sweetness, these two are perfect for each other.
I recently got together with Jenny and Patrick at the Lord Thompson Manor in Thompson, CT (which, on another note, is beautiful!) for their engagement shoot. I’ve always wanted to shoot a wedding at Lord Thompson Manor but I figured until I can do that, I might as well shoot an engagement session there. Andrew and his wife were kind enough to let us roam the stunning grounds of Lord Thompson Manor and were incredibly kind to let us shoot wherever we wanted.
Jenny and Patrick, thanks for a great time and I absolutely can’t wait for your wedding at Morraine Farm in a couple months! And, of course, I’m super excited to work with a dream team, organized and coordinated by the one and only Paula Marrero of Marrero Weddings and Events.
The entryway to Lord Thompson Manor is beautiful so we decided to start shooting their engagement photos there. Patrick and Jenny were total naturals in front of the camera! This is the side garden where most wedding ceremonies are held at Lord Thompson Manor. It was absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite parts of shooting at Lord Thompson was this small moss path that led through the woods on the property. In all my years of hiking, I’ve never walked a moss-covered path. it was so pretty and romantic! The grounds of Lord Thompson Manor really are a sight to see and are a beautiful backdrop for both engagement and wedding photos.Toward the back of Lord Thompson Manor, there was a stone patio with tables, chairs and a fire pit. This is where most cocktail hours are held for weddings that are at Lord Thompson Manor. We liked the feel of it, so we decided to shoot there a bit.We did Jenny and Patrick’s engagement session around sunset time, so the soft buttery light was super pretty as it fell over the ground soy lord Thompson Manor. This is another view of the side garden where most wedding ceremonies are held at Lord Thompson Manor. Again, it was so, so pretty and a gorgeous location for both wedding and engagement photos.
