I arrived into Copenhagen airport yesterday at 14:00 (2PM for those who aren’t familiar with the 24-hour time schedule used here in Europe) and walked outside to see blue skies and sunshine with a light breeze in the air. I was home. Well, home away from home. Either way, it felt wonderful. I took a cab to Nørrebro, the part of Copenhagen that I used to live in, to meet my friend. Soon after I grabbed her biked and headed downtown to Nyhavn to meet Henriette and Christian for their Get-to-know-you session. I am shooting their wedding here in Copenhagen tomorrow but I wanted to meet them beforehand so we did a little shoot down at Nyhavn, one of the most iconic places in Copenhagen. Arriving an hour before sunset, the light and weather was absolutely perfect. People filled the walkways of the harbor area, sipping on iced coffees or cold beers, eating ice cream, and enjoying the evening.
Nyhavn was a perfect place to do their get to know you session because they both love to travel. We made our way around the harbor and onto some of the boats to do the shoot and it ended up turning out to be one of my favorite shoots to date. Enjoy! And….be jealous…Copenhagen is indeed that beautiful.
This is Nyhavn. And yes, it is so, so very beautiful! I have always wanted to do a photo session of some sort down here but never got around to doing it until now.
