They didn’t meet in college, or at a bar, or through a mutual friend like most people. In fact, they met once, and for only a few minutes, at a company Christmas party on the top floor of the State Room in downtown Boston. They each got a drink and started to chat, but after only a minute or two, Briana was pulled away by her boss and never even caught Mike’s name. One could say that it was just a random meeting that night, but little did they know that fate had more in store for them. It wasn’t until six months later when Bri walked into a dingy conference room with stale coffee and terrible lighting, that she found the guy from the Christmas party sitting at the board room table across from her. They had been assigned to work together as a part of a small team offering accounting advice to new client businesses. Mike was one year her senior, and therefore was in charge of teaching Bri everything I needed to learn. Their conversations initially began with Mike tutoring Bri on all the technical and complex audit procedures that she needed to master in order to do her job correctly, but very quickly a friendship blossomed, and it wasn’t long until they spent every night texting and talking on the phone into the wee hours of the morning. They wanted to take it slow since they worked together, but once it became clear that they couldn’t go a single day without talking to each other, they knew there was something special there.
Meet Birana + Mike.
