It was the sunniest, happiest of all Saturdays in September. Emily was so excited, she wasn’t actually sure what day of the week it was, much less what month. If she stopped to focus, she could probably remember. But it didn’t really matter anyway, right? What really mattered was that she was getting married today! To the most wonderful man of her dreams. She could hardly wait. But of course she had to. It wouldn’t do to let him see her in her wedding dress before the actual ceremony started. And she couldn’t thank her parents enough for helping make this day happen. The least she could do was let them see their daughter in the happiest moments of her life. So she would just have to be patient.
Emily stared at her reflection, beaming. She felt as beautiful as she looked. Then suddenly her bridesmaids were whisking her away and the ceremony was starting. The chairs were was almost as full as her heart. And there he was. Her best friend. The man she wanted to spend forever with. Kevin smiled right back into her happy-tearing eyes, standing beside his groomsmen, waiting for her as her father gave her away. And before they knew it, they were vowing their hearts to each other. In sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse, to honor and obey, until death did they part. Even beyond that, Emily could imagine herself loving Kevin for eternity. Because this love was stronger than anything she had ever felt. And looking into his eyes now, she knew she wasn’t alone.
