Eolia Mansion wedding
It crept in off the coast of Connecticut, slowly and surely, threatening to put a damper on her dream wedding. Drawing closer and closer by the minute, it began to hover over the beach, just a hundred yards or so away from the site where she was to promise forever to the man that her stole her heart. She gazed out the window and in with a soft and steady voice she firmly stated “I don’t care if it rains or not. I am marrying him in one hour under that pergola”. And, as though in full respect and reverence to her confidence and calmness, it stopped. Right there on that shore, a fog so thick and dense just stopped. And waited. It waited until she walked down that aisle. It waited until she was a Mrs. And it waited until she promised forever. And once she was done, it moved in ever so quickly, as though making up for its lost time.
Kelley and Jesse got married on an absolutely breathtakingly beautiful (albeit a bit foggy) day at Eolia Mansion in Harkness Memorial State Park. Never in my life have I photographed a wedding with such incredible fog, and although Kelley would argue that it took a toll on her hair, I think both she and Jesse would agree that the density of the fog gave Eolia Mansion a feel that was so incredibly magical.
Noreen Saksa of Earth Blossoms did an absolutely incredible job on Kelley’s flowers! They were so dainty and soft! Kelley’s dress was a stunning number from Allure Bridals that she purchased at Ana’s Bridal in Providence, RI. Her jewelry was custom made for her from a shop on Etsy.Kelley’s “something old” was a vintage ring from her Grandmother. As if Kelley weren’t already beautiful enough, we had Janice from Naomi’s Studio and Salon on hand to do her hair and makeup. I always love walking in to see one of Naomi’s girls prepping the bride, because they are second to none.Kelley, my dear, you are stunning. One of the things I love about weddings at Eolia Mansion in Harkness Memorial state park is that the bridal room is so large and well lit. It makes it much more fun shooting getting read shots in a room that has a lot of natural light. While I was with Kelley at Eolia Mansion, Rachel was at Jesse’s home grabbing some shots of him preparing. You all know I love me a good first look, and Kelley + Jesse’s did not disappoint. I just love seeing the reactions that both the bride and groom have when seeing each other for the first time…alone…without the pressure of 100 other eyeballs on them. Oh you two, stop being so darn good looking, will ya?My absolute favorite thing abut shooting a wedding at Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park is that there is no lack of beauty not he grounds. From the landscaping to the architecture, the beach to the gardens….it is just absolutely breathtaking and a perfect place for a wedding.Walking out into that gorgeous fog that stopped right before it hit the edge of Eolia Mansion.I love having Rachel on hand to grab incredible shots like this one.Kelley and Jesse got married in front of the gorgeous pergola in the side garden of Eolia Mansion. Once again, the architecture and landscaping is just stunning. During their wedding ceremony, both Kelley and Jesse were just glowing with happiness and excitement. The kiss that sealed the deal!Immediately after the ceremony, the fog quickly crept up and over Eolia mansion, which gave it a magical feel. As a fellow travel enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed the details kelley and Jesse had for their wedding, which had a touch of a travel theme.Kelley has collected vintage postcards for a long time, so it was very fitting for her to have them at her wedding. Each guest had to find their name by a postcard, and the postcard then led them to their tableSeriously, I loooove that fog! When I found out that Kelley was using Sugarbelle for her cupcakes, I about died and went to heaven. And then I wrote her and if both the cupcakes and her photographer happen to go missing, she should probably look in one of the closets of Eolia Mansion, where she would find me eating ALL of them.Jesse put his special touch on the wedding by brewing his own beer for the guests to drink. This is probably one of the most creative and cool personal touches I’ve ever seen at a wedding.A Thyme to Cook did an incredible job with the catering, and it’s always a pleasure working with them
You have captured perfectly every dreamy detail of this stunning wedding!
