I have just sat here for 20 minutes trying to put words on yesterday. And I can’t. I absolutely can’t come up with any words that do yesterday any justice. Brian and Desiree’s wedding at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson, NY was absolutely beautiful. I told them a the end of the day that it was outdone in beauty only by my own sisters wedding. The beauty that I speak of is not elaborate decor, lighting, or ambiance. It is not of flowers that made your jaw drop, or of high end designer clothing. The beauty that I am referring to was the utter raw emotion that ran wild all day. And.it.was.amazing. I have only said this about a couple weddings I have been to but, God was there. His presence was so strong that the air was thick as I have ever felt it. I don’t think there was a single person who got through the day without shedding a tear or two, including myself. Their story? It is a beautiful one of restoration and hope, of wanting but waiting, of perseverance and promise. And, my God, it was such an honor to be there to document the climax of it all. I left to catch a ferry late after the wedding with a full heart and a renewed spirit.
Brian and Des, I can try to come of with words, but none will do your day any justice. Thank you for seeing that I “get” it with what you wanted for your wedding. And thanks for just being who you are. The best is yet to come 🙂
