They lived in the same neighborhood when they were kids, which always seems to be the start of a great love story. Over the years, there were times that Nicole’s Dad had her deliver the mail to Jon’s house because they had the same last name and would sometimes get each others mail. She would hand over the mail, but Nicole never had any interest in Jon because he was so goofy. As they got older, there were times where she saw him playing roller hockey in the neighborhood but for the most part they were mere acquaintances who sort of stayed in touch over the years.. When Jon learned that Nicole would be home for an internship between her junior and senior year of college, he reached out to her about meeting up. After what Jon swears was being stood up twice by Nicole, they finally hung out over gelato and they remember thinking how easy it was to talk to each other. That summer, they hung out a ton, doing everything from running errands to going out to dinner. But when that summer sun set, she went back to college and they remained just friends. They continued to talk, almost daily, and while they remained friends for the rest of that school year, in both of their hearts, they knew it was more. At the end of the school year, Nicole moved back to Florida where she and Jon spent the entire summer together. At the end of the summer, August 21st 2009, they had our official first date at the Melting Pot. Their love story is one built on the solid foundation of friendship, and that is something that will carry them through whatever life may bring their way.
