Best Places in New York City for Wedding Receptions

This past weekend my darling husband whisked me away to the mountains to celebrate our first anniversary. Our actual anniversary isn’t until the end of this month, but I have a triple header weekend then so there will be no celebrating on our actual anniversary. For those of you who know me, you know that I love surprises…but I’m also a hard person to surprise. I knew Adam was doing something, because this was his year to plan our anniversary (we will switch every other year, the same as we do with Valentine’s Day), but I had no idea if it would just be dinner in the city, or something random like playing with puppies. I wasn’t expecting to spend the entire weekend out of town, but it was exactly what I (we!) needed. We made our way up to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, a town neither of us had ever been to. The drive there was incredibly beautiful, despite the fact that it was pouring rain. We actually spent a good portion of the weekend laughing over the fact that any time we plan something special (included but not limited to our engagement and wedding day), it’s freezing and raining. This weekend was no exception. The weather was almost identical to our wedding day. By now, tough, we’ve learn to not let anyone o anything rain on our parade, so I bought a new raincoat and we had our own kind of fun eating our way through town and sitting in the hot spring pool in the rain. The day before we left, the mountain range actually got hit with a HUGE snowstorm, so on our drive back we drove all through snow covered mountain tops. I was in awe. It was as though I had never seen snow, but I was just so shocked that I was seeing that much snow in MAY. Nevertheless, I snapped some pictures and just took it all in, thinking about how my friends in Connecticut were currently at the beach and eating ice cream.

Heres to many more rainy life celebrations…(but I wouldn’t mind a sunny one, for once)

Adam always complains that I post pictures online where he looks stupid. Well. This is te face I get. Always. Without fail. So, stupid it is…

That looks like it was really nice! I’m a cool-and-foggy girl a lot of times… not sure how I’d feel about SNOW in May, though. hahaha 🙂 Looks like you guys had a great trip, though! Oh, and I personally enjoy seeing Adam’s “stupid” photos. haha 😉 Happy anniversary! xoxo
