When Amy first contacted me, she talked about how she and Gavin were planning on getting married in Hartford, Connecticut at City Hall. She was obviously excited about marrying this man she had loved for 10 year, but there was something in her vice that just didn’t seem excited at all about the wedding. I asked her what her hopes and dreams were for her wedding day and she said “truthfully, I would love to just elope to somewhere like Quebec City, int he winter”. After listening to her speak from the heart about what she truly desired, I said “Amy, if that’s what you guys want, then do it! And I’m happy to come up there with you!” I could hear the excitement in her voice when she talked about walking the old cobblestone streets, hand in hand, alone with the love of her life. After a few calls and figuring out whether or not it would work, she excitedly called me back to let me know that’s what they would be doing. So it was, on a freezing cold day in December that she and Gavin promised forever to each other in wha was one of those romantic days I’ve ever photographed. There was something so special about it being just the two of them. Their planner, Isabelle Radford, orchestrated the most perfect day for them and left no detail unthought of. Everything from the limo to the perfectly curated menu was exactly how Amy and Gavin imagined their big day being. And it was nothing short of perfect.
Shooting this wedding in quebec city during winter was an absolute dream! Fromt he snow covered cobblestone streets to the old buildings, it made shooting their wedding on film a dream!
