She pulled her veil down over her face and took a deep breath. This wasn’t the wedding day she was hoping for, but she was determined to make the best of it. The rain poured outside and thunderclouds formed as the neighborhood became increasingly darker by the minute. As the clocked ticked away, so did her hopes of a dreamy garden wedding day. But Amanda was bigger than that and she knew that all that really mattered was the fact that she was still getting to have her big Portuguese wedding that she always wanted, surrounded by the very best friends and family she could ever imagine. Not to mention the fact that she was going to marry her best friend, prince charming, and favorite person in the world. She prayed a silent prayer, and hoped for the best the rest of her wedding day, determining to not let the weather affect the outcome of her big day. She marched into the church, taking her time getting down the aisle, as Duarte greeted her at the front and with one look at him, she knew everything was going to be ok. She was right. Because, much to everyone’s surprise, when Amanda and Duarte emerged from the church doors after the ceremony, the sun was shining brightly and they were able to do portraits in all the dreamy, green, lush gardens they envisioned! It was practically a miracle, given to forecast and what the morning was like. They sipped cocktails on the outdoor patio of Farmignton Gardens, and danced the night away as they thanked the good Lord above for their dream wedding day, but especially for each other and the life they were about to start together.
