Once upon a time I got my wisdom teeth pulled. Maybe it is the eldest child in me. Maybe it is the Italian. Whatever it is, I had this idea in my head that I would handle the pain like a champ and be able to go back to work immediately. I was wrong. Sorely wrong (no pun intended), in fact. Exactly 4 hours after my surgery, this pain kicked in that was so intense all I could do was curl up in a ball and try to sleep. I decided not to get my prescription filled because, you know, I am that hardcore. Actually I just hate drugs. Period. People asked me how I felt, and you know what I kept thinking? The worst part was not the pain. The worst part was not the fact that my mouth bled like the Nile River. The worst part was not my inability to work. Nope, the worst part, my friends, was my inability to speak the first 24 hours. No lie – I walked around with a notepad. Oh, and I limited to smoothies the first 5 days. You want to know how to piss an Italian off? Take away her ability the eat and talk. The end.

All that to say – the blog has been neglected this past week and for that I do apologize. However, I am coming back swinging (which the Yankees better start doing like NOW) with an awesome post and offer.

Have you heard about Swanky Stitch? Well ladies and gents, if you have not then you better head right on over to facebook and check them out.

The packaging is simply adorable and top notch. I also got the strap with the lens pouch, which is a lifesaver for someone like me who loses a cap at almost every wedding.

I loooove the 3B style with the ruffle. Maybe it’s a “me” thing, but I absolutely adore ruffles 🙂

A little interview with Sara:

You are becoming increasingly popular amongst photographers, and even “regular people” who have cameras. When did you start Swanky Straps?
I started Swanky Stitch in Sept of this year, we are new but experienced!

What made you want to start Swanky Straps?
I created a couple of Camera Straps for myself and my sister-in-law then posted on my personal facebook page within 24 hours I was flooded by requests to make more and sell! After some thought I agreed, these straps were adorable and deserve to be worn by all those that desire them!

Where would you like Swanky Straps to be 1 year from now?
We desire to be the go-to Camera Strap Cover shop amongst photographers & all shutter bugs worldwide. Known not only for fantastic style and cutting edge trends in fabrics and style options but also for quality and durability of a great product.

Where do you get your inspiration from for the fabrics you choose and the styles you design?
Inspiration comes from personal style and being addicted all things trendy. If you are going to do something add flare to it, ie Camera Straps, add personality and spunk to something unexpected.

You have a son who is almost 2, a marriage to maintain, and it seems like you still find time to do a bunch of creative domestic projects. How do you manage to juggle all these things?
Every mama needs time to herself to express creativity and inspiration, I make sure to create time for ME. I’m a better wifey, Mom, and person all around when I’m able to invest in me. Swanky Stitch is a perfect outlet for me to express myself and make a couple of bucks on the side.

After all these straps you sew, you certainly must have one that is YOUR personal favorite. Which is it?
Pick One?! It’s like candy, one day I crave milk chocolate and another day I crave creamy caramel, lucky for me I have plenty to choose from and I switch it up pending on the day’s craving! I do have a couple that are my favs {pic below}

Thanks Sara! And, friends, make sure you head over to Swanky Stitch NOW and order your strap (she goes on vacation this weekend!)
