Alicia daw

I was not the child who grew up envisioning her wedding day or playing with barbie dolls and babies. I was the girl who could be found climbing trees, playing football, and always up for a good adventure. Even though my feminine side and motherly instincts took a little bit longer than normal to develop, one thing I always knew for sure was that I wanted to be married and have a family. This is our little family, and they are truly my greatest joy and adventure.

my family

One of my favorite things to do is to travel and explore with my kids.  Whether it's heading into Manhattan where I know the streets like the back of my hand, and can tell you where to find the best views, music, second hand shops, culture, and - mostly importantly - chocolate chip cookie (spoiler alert: it's at levain bakery) or going back to my soul city of Copenhagen, there is something about being in cities around the world that invigorates my soul - the energy, the noise, the smells. While I will always be partial to Europe - my home away from home - I truly love exploring and traveling everywhere. Having been to 37 different countries, I have seen so much....and still feel like I've seen so little. Bucket list: New Zealand, Bali, Maldives, Chile, & South Africa.

Traveling the world

If you want to find me in my true element, you'll have to look no further than in my kitchen. Whether I'm whipping up my latest Italian dish (homemade pasta is my favorite), experimenting with ethnic cuisines (I have an Indian vindaloo recipe that is to die for), or baking up a storm, I am most at ease in the kitchen. On any given weekend where I am not photographing a wedding, you'll find me in the kitchen likely creating art with pies or sugar cookies, trying to perfect my sourdough loaves (gosh, this one has been hard), or trying a new European dessert (pictured: Swedish Semla's that are drool worthy).

Baking all the things

As a young child, some of my fondest memories are of picking fresh peas and tomatoes in my grandmothers garden. She had a green thumb and a knack for growing the most delicious vegetables. While we never had a garden at my home growing up, I've always had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to learn how to be self-sustaining and have the ability to grow my own food. In the recent years, but especially during the COVID pandemic, I took to my backyard and began experimenting with a variety of fruits and vegetables. In 2020 alone (because the food supply upon the onset of COVID had me concerned) I grew tomatoes, peppers, a variety of squashes, peas, carrots, lettuce, green beans, cucumbers, strawberries, and blueberries.

The Alicia Ann Photographers manifesto

My style of photography tells the story of your day that is found in between moments. the belly laughter during toasts, the tears streaming down mom's cheek as you walk down the aisle, and the smile seen in the eyes of your new spouse...because forever just began.

"More beautiful than we could have imagined."

Alicia’s attention to detail, editing, and the way that she is able to capture such intimate moments between a couple in the midst of a wedding is what made her our #1 choice.

"She is the best of the bests."

Alicia’s images capture real emotion and the quality is unparalleled. If you let her, she will become a trusted advisor, confidant, and close personal friend. Do not look any further - she is the best of the bests.

"Our images are beyond our expectations."

Alicia is the most perfect photographer we could have chosen for our wedding.  She was fun, professional, kind and helpful. I would say our images are beyond expectations but when choosing Alicia the only option is exceptional.
