When first talking to Jocelyn about how she and Titus met, she said something that has stuck with me since – “It’s amazing how when you found the right one, the wait didn’t seem so long.” After 5 years living on the west coast, Titus came back home to New Jersey. His plan was not to stay for long, but something was telling him to take a chance and join an online dating site. He didn’t think he would end up meeting someone, nevermind someone from Connecticut. At that point Jocelyn been off and on dating sites for a few years. Each and every time, after some OK dates and some heartache, she vowed that she would not join again, but in April of 2015, something inside her told her just to try once more.. After the first “Hello, my name is….”message, Titus and Jocelyn were inseparable. On Christmas Day she travelled down to New Jersey to have dinner with his family. It was an unusually warm evening for December so they decided to take a walk to look at Christmas lights. In previous weeks when Titus asked what she wanted for Christmas she would joke and say “A puppy with a big red bow.” As they walked down the street, ironically named Jocelyn Court, Titus handed her a bag. In it was an adorable stuffed animal dog with a red ribbon… and much to her surprise, attached to it was a ring box. Titus got down in the middle of the street and said that the greatest Christmas gift he could ever ask for was for her to be his wife. And, just like that, the years of waiting did’t seem like they were that long at all.
