As the old saying goes, better late than never….right? So it is with our wedding photos, that I’m finally getting around to blogging them! Our wedding was…interesting. If you followed along on Instagram, you knew that my mom and I worked our tails off to make sure every “t” was crossed and every “i” was dotted. We spent countless hours sewing cloth napkins, potting basil plants, spray painting wine bottles, making my veil and so many other projects. This was a DIY wedding on steroids, which was kinda a dream come true for me because I’ve always loved crafting. However, on the morning of our wedding, almost all plans had to get scratched due to weather. On Memorial Day weekend, it was 44 degrees and rained ALL day. Our plans for a 100% outdoor wedding (including a reception under the stars) came to a screeching halt when our vendors, friends, and family, all came together for our plan B…which didn’t exist until the day before the wedding. We had a tent on reserve, but nobody could’ve predicted the temperatures would drop so low, forcing us to move the ceremony inside as well (my plan was to get married outside, rain or shine, thinking that even if it rained, it would be 65 degrees). I can’t say enough good things about the staff at The Country Loft who moved thousands of dollars worth of antiques into a side room in order to pack all our guests into the main barn so that I didn’t have to get married under the tent.

All in all, despite the fact that our wedding wasn’t everything we planed for and dreamed of, it was a fantastic day and we still have people telling us how they ha so much fun! A super huge shoutout is in order to all of our vendors that made it all happen. There were times in the day where I caught our DJ carrying chairs and tables, our videographer holding umbrellas, and people helping out when it went above and beyond their “job”.
